Mission Office in Zurich

This week has been the high point of our mission so far. We have been hosting the Outreach Center in St.Gallen for seven weeks now, and have met a lot of the Young Single Adults in our Stake! It is wonderful to feel their love and support and to get to know them better - they are amazing! In two weeks the Institute of Religion Classes will begin for the new school year, after being on a 9-week summer break.

The spiritual highs of our Mission are the Zone Conferences. The Missionaries from our entire stake meet together with our Mission President and his wife about every 6 weeks. President and Sister Matern are inspiring leaders and the Zone Conferences really strengthen our testimonies and motivate us to do better in our work.

The week after Zone Conference is our Personal Interview with President Matern. He is a terrific Mission President!

We are feeling connected here in our ward and stake, and in our Mission. We have a lot of young friends here, now, and we enjoy being with them. It takes time to establish new relationships, but we definitely feel the rewards of hard work over the summer, coupled with being blessed by the Lord in our efforts. We have some youth who turned 18 over the summer, so they'll add a lot of zip to the program this fall.

Next week we are having an International Potluck Dinner - I can't wait! These 'youngens' can really cook!

In the ward, Norwin is helping out in the Gospel Essentials class, and I'm helping out as Primary accompanist.

Is this what we think it is?

Yes, it's a piano floating on the sea! The musician invites anyone interested to go out to the float with him in his little rowboat and either listen to his music, or join with him to make music to the sound of waves and seagulls. Or you can just float by on your own water craft and enjoy the music!
